ABOUT
Nance Vigneau is an experienced architect and an acclaimed interior designer. With both a Bachelor of Architecture and a BFA in Interior Design from Pratt Institute, she has a keen understanding of the way structures are made, and the possibilities for altering and improving them. She is also facile and impassioned about residential design.
Before founding Vigneau & Associates, Nance Vigneau managed large projects for Gensler and Skidmore, Ownings & Merrill, two premier architectural firms. Vigneau & Associates was founded over two decades ago in Greenwich, CT.
The firm’s residential projects have included informal coastal homes, formal Georgian properties, oceanfront vacation condos and shingle style summer houses. Whether in Palm Beach, Greenwich, coastal Connecticut or islands in Maine, each project has its own persona.
Among our commercial projects are a modern equestrian center, a private sporting and polo club and an array of professional office spaces. With the studied knowledge of an architect and the fine-tuned eye of a designer, Nance Vigneau brings a unique perspective to her firm’s projects, whether intimate or grand.
PHILOSOPHY
Vigneau & Associates is known for interiors in which spaces graciously flow from one to another. Where rooms and gardens create wonder, inviting you to enter — and where exposures and siting are carefully considered.
A component of rooms that beckon is choreographing transitions from public rooms to private spaces — allowing for an artful pause. Public spaces are thoughtfully laid out, encouraging conversation and ease. Fabrics are selected not only for their colors and textures but for suitability to pets, children and the habits of their users. Similarly, the scale of furniture is chosen to suit the proportions of every room and its inhabitants.
Every effort is made to incorporate some existing furniture and objects to reflect our clients’ personalities, resulting in a bespoke design every time. We do not have a signature style because we honor our clients’ stories, designing homes that truly reflect their essence.

At Vigneau & Associates, we design rooms that beckon for homes in fabulous locations, from Maine to Palm Beach. We use that same expertise to create hotel rooms that beckon in a different but equally compelling way.
Taking cues from the hotel’s location, we give each project a vivid sense of place that not only reflects the location, but the local culture, too. Years of experience with high-end residential and commercial projects have taught us what we need to know before we even begin — whether it be codes, local regulations or stipulations
Just as there is no one way to design a residential space, there are so many ways to design a hotel. What ours all have in common is that they beckon to the guest to come on in, recharge and stay awhile.
